Sherlock books

Browsing in Waterstone(‘)s today I noticed that BBC Books is cashing in on the popularity of a certain great detective by publishing a range of Sherlock-branded Conan Doyle books, adorned with Cumberbatch and Freeman on the cover. They’ve got ‘extras’ by the writers of the TV series, and might bring new readers to the Conan Doyle originals.

At £6.99, though, it might be worth those new readers shopping around a little bit before buying!

Read a Bookseller article about the series.

And according to the Radio Times, back in 2010, sales of Sherlock Holmes books increased by 53 per cent…

Anyone wanting to buy some old Sherlock Holmes books can get them for £2 – £3 in any second hand book shop. I wonder how many books are sold to people who wouldn’t normally frequent the 2nd hand shops?
