Spoiler alert!

Wow, one newspaper article gives away the surprises in no fewer than eight crime novels. Don’t read if you haven’t read:

Daphne Du Maurier: Don’t Look Now
Susanna Moore: In the Cut
Agatha Christie: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
Alice Sebold: The Lovely Bones
Tana French: In the Woods
P. D. James: Death Comes to Pemberley
Denise Mina: The Dead Hour
Heather Gudenkauf: The Weight of Silence

  1. Rich – I so dislike it when blogs, reviews and articles give spoilers away! Thanks for your warning.

Well, giving away the shock ending of In the Cut is just, well, Beyond the Pale! (Has anyone used that for the title of a novel?) At least they seem to have missed out on A Kiss Before Dying by Ira Levin.

What an odd piece. If you’re trying to get people to check out more books, don’t ruin a large batch of them, even if they were published years ago.

It’s a slightly odd piece with the wrong PD James title and the Agatha Christie comment is wrong, Hercule Poirot does solve the case – it is the reader who finds out the murderer through the suicide note but Poirot has already solved it. Oh well.
