There was some controversy earlier in the year when it was announced that the BBC was planning to shoot its remake of Daphne du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn in Northern Ireland rather than the more obvious (but presumably more expensive) Cornwall.
Now the Lancaster Guardian adds insult to injury by announcing that some of the filming will be taking place in Kirkby Lonsdale.
I haven’t seen any news about the cast, but Phillipa Lowthorpe, who earned her BBC-costume-drama stripes on The Other Boleyn Girl and Call the Midwife, is running the show for Origin Pictures.
