So far I’ve plugged house sales for Ruth Rendell and Daphne du Maurier. I’m now happy to bring you news of Ethel Lina White’s childhood home.
The author of The Wheel Spins (filmed as The Lady Vanishes) and Some Must Watch (The Spiral Staircase) grew up in this lovely mock-Tudor house in Abergavenny. And very pleasant it seems too. 600 grand if you want it.
Wonderful! Her father, I believe, was quite well-off. Is there no historical marker of any kind?

Her father built the house in 1880, so I guess he was.
