LEGO 256 Police Officers and Motorcycle, released in 1976

LEGO 256 Police Officers and Motorcycle, released in 1976. I’m actually pretty certain I had this one. Image from brickinstructions.com.

Every month on Past Offences I gather together blog posts about crime fiction written or filmed in a particular year. Santosh chose us 1976 for September.

If you want to take part, you can! When you’ve written your post, just let me know below. I’ll gather them all together at the end of the month.

Anyone can play, so over to you…

  • Just comment below to link to your blog post.
  • If you want to play but you haven’t got a blog, I’m happy to have you as a guest poster, or to link to Goodreads or Amazon.
  • Books, comics, films, plays and TV also welcome.
  • Sorry in advance if I miss you in the round-up, although I am getting better at that bit.

I just bought his Don’t Point That Thing At Me. I hope it’s not in the same spirit.

      • It seems from general opinion that the books got worse as they went along (mine was number 3 of 3) so you might be alright Rich. You’d have to nail me to a chair and set fire to my nether regions before I’d read anything else by him but I will be curious to see what you think.

I enjoyed that one when I read it several years ago. However, I don’t remember anything about it (which may say something right there) and it was before I did any kind of journaling on what I read. So all I have is a four out five star rating to give you.

I tried again this time but it just won’t take a comment from me if I put in a link. I used the href format this time, still no luck.

I just finished a reread and review of one of my favorite books, King and Joker by Peter Dickinson.

I may be the last one to post his month. I did another historical mystery so the 1976 part of this is only the publication date. But it’s my favorite Holmes pastiche and re-reading it again almost 40 years later it still proves to be one of the best. The Giant Rat of Sumatra by Richard L Boyer
