Not the most obvious of choice, granted, but a “seasonal special” at least implies they’re willing to put a bit of effort into it. The show fills an interesting niche – it’s sort of the answer to the question “What if Midsomer Murders was even cheaper and less logical?” – but it’s weirdly easy to watch and very enjoyable when they do something well (partly because it’s unexpected…?). Who knows, maybe this will mark a turning point…
